This project was filled with vision and inspiration from the start! One of our main goals was to create defined spaces within the open concept living/dining area. With this in mind, the new apartment layout would include a reading nook, desk/work area and entryway in addition to the living room and dining room. Our client gave us a lot of great direction with her style and we were able to incorporate some existing pieces into the new space. First we started by narrowing down the furniture items we were keeping. Next we layered on paint colors, new furniture and fun accents that would help bring it all together. While there were a few key pieces that shaped the design, there was one accessory that really grabbed my attention; the beautiful vibrant table runner that my client had in her dining room. It gave us all the color inspiration we needed for the new apartment!
Using Benjamin Moore paint swatches we were able to find the perfect match for each wall color. The main living/dining area would be painted in Revere Pewter, which is a light taupe grey colorway. Our accent wall would be navy; it was a hard choice between Hale Navy and Old Navy but ultimately we went with Old Navy with it’s lighter undertone. We added a fun pop of color inside the dining room pantry in Chippendale Rosetone, an unexpected surprise every time the closet door is opened! To tie it all together we went with White Dove on the trim, one of our favorite whites in the BM color palette.
